WILSON, NC | 2021 GMC AcadiaMarch 11, 2025I dropped my car off at 5 pm for a next morning appointment. By 8:30 am I was contacted that they had determined that the thermostat was defective and that it would be over $1,000 to replace. It was told to me that GM had taken thermostats off of the 36,000 mile power train warranty since so many thermostats were going out. I was unhappy about that since I have less than 30,000 miles on my car and at the time of purchase a thermostat was covered under power train. As for fixing my car, the dealership did a wonderful job - my disappointment is with GM. If you know you have a problem with thermostats you should issue a recall and fix them - not just reduce the warranty period to a time that you know they won't go bad.Response from MEDLIN BUICK GMC
